About Tessuti
Tessuti Fabrics was established in Chatswood since 1992 by Colette Guanta and Greg Spirou. Their customers were quick to recognise and appreciate the value, quality and great service that Tessuti provides.
The Bargain Shoppers Guide To Sydney has included Tessuti in their magazine for the sixth year running and we have been voted 'Best Fabric Shop' by Sydney University of Technology fashion students.
Our fabrics are purchased from the most celebrated local, interstate and international designers at the end of each season. For this reason we offer our customers quality European fabrics at very affordable prices.
We specialise in quality fabrics in predominantly natural fibres. Tessuti has become reknowned for an extensive range that includes pure Italian wool's, linen’s, cotton’s, viscose and silks etc.
In addition to our beautiful fabrics, we carry the largest quality button range on the North Shore and Eastern suburbs. We also offer a covered button range and service.
Our aim is to help our customer create unique, quality garments. With a background manufacturing we are able to offer advice and products that you won't find anywhere else.

We love to see our customers get as excited about our fabrics as we do. We have a mialing list comprising over 10,000 names from around the globe.
We welcome and offer tailors and design students a 10% discount on all full priced products.
Our five stores are located at Bondi Junction, Surry Hills, Chatswood and our newest Sydney city stores at 55 York Street and 127 York Street. Rapid growth means that Tessuti is constantly expanding its product range. We also wholesale to small designers and other fabric stores all over Australia.
Colette Guanta
Colette Guanta comes from three generations of dressmakers and manufacturers. Colette studied design at East Sydney before working with her mother, Silva Guanta, who to this date creates and retails beautiful garments for women who appreciate great quality fabrics and design.
Colette then moved on to open Tessuti Fabrics at Chatswood on Mother's Day in 1992, where she sourced top quality designer fabrics, trims and buttons.
Tessuti’s success and its expansion was always based on Colette's original vision to one day own a fabric store providing professional service and beautiful yet affordable designer fabrics.
"Our customers just love fabrics. They love searching for the perfect match to suit their needs and they love the value, service and range of fabrics and other products we offer. It's a wonderful experience to watch our clientele expand their skills and dressmaking capabilities as they take on even more challenging design patterns and complex garments. And as they expand their skills their demand for quality grows. It is very satisfying when I see the fabulous outfits they have made themselves using Tessuti Fabrics" says Colette.
