Tessuti Fabrics, the worlds most beautiful fabrics, in Sydney, Australia

Tessuti Awards

Thank you to everyone who participated in the inaugural Tessuti Awards. It was a fun night with a fantastic turnout and an amazing array of beautiful outfits.

Thank you also for the very useful feedback. We will be taking your ideas on board for next year. So start thinking about what you will be creating for the 2008 Tessuti Awards.

Tessuti Awards winner, Elizabeth Finck

Congratulations to the winner, Elizabeth Finck, who only started sewing at the beginning of this year, taking lessons at Trish Connery's Sewing School in Turramurra.

Beth is studying creative art, she chose the fabric simply because she loved the texture and colour. She described the inverted pleats as her favorite feature of the garment which was worn on the night by her sister Luci.

Great work Beth, we can't wait to see your next year's creation. In the meantime enjoy your trip to Italy.

Also thanks to the George O'Keefe from Chatswood Sewing Centre www.bernina-chatswood.com.au for the beautiful overlocker that went to the second prize winner.

Thank you to the fabulous caterers Misschu www.misschu.com.au, weren't those little duck rolls delicious.

Thank you also to John Garrod from Terries Buttons, not only for his generous contribution but also his photographic skills.

Go to our facebook page to see all the great pictures. While you are there please join our facebook group. Our final thanks goes to Vogue patterns for their beautiful lucky door prize.

Colette is already considering entering more categories for next years awards, so if you have any further ideas on how we can improve this event please let us know.

Thanks again and keep on sewing.
